Fitness Tips to Help You Look And Feel Better

Drink plenty of water daily. Studies have produced varying recommendations over the years in regard to daily intake amount, but in truth, your water needs depend on many factors, including your health, how active you are and where you live. Water is your body’s principal chemical component and makes up about 60 percent of your body weight. Every system in your body depends on water.

For example, water aids kidney, liver and other vital organ function by flushing out waste, hydrates the brain and skin, carries nutrients to your cells, helps digestion, lubricates joints, and regulates body temperature. Lack of water can lead to dehydration, a condition that occurs when you don’t have enough water in your body to carry out normal functions. Even mild dehydration can drain your energy and make you tired. Drink water before, during and after your work out.

Eat organic, whole, fresh foods whenever possible. The least processed your food and drinks are, the better. Portion control is vital to your success. “Everything in moderation” is a good rule. Don’t tell yourself you are “dieting” because depriving yourself of the things you love will only lead to overindulging later.

We wonder why we “don’t feel very well.” Maybe it’s because we are eating so many “food like” products. “Sugar Free,” “Low Calorie,” and “Diet,” products are not better for you. These may contain chemical additives which your body has a hard time processing. The human body is designed to fight off foreign substances and has the ability to repair itself, if properly hydrated and nourished. Inflammation is your body’s natural response to protect itself from harm.

Try creating a work out playlist. Start with some slower songs for your stretching and have them slowly get more fast paced. While you are working out, you want good, fast paced songs to keep you motivated. Then, you will want the songs to slow down again for your cool down period.
